The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) Canada represents firms that deliver professional engineering services to both public and private sectors. As a trusted advocate, ACEC champions the industry, strengthens firms, and supports its members. It does so by advancing key issues and national priorities that affect the Canadian engineering sector.
To support this mission, ACEC needed a Government Relations (GR) document that would clearly highlight a Policy Notification. This notice had significant implications and required a format that conveyed findings with clarity. The ACEC GR brochure design needed to be visually compelling, easy to navigate, and aligned with the organization’s tone and brand. Furthermore, it had to engage a wide audience—policymakers, stakeholders, and members alike.
Recognizing the importance of clarity and accessibility, our team began with research. We analyzed audience demographics, policy goals, and communication needs. From there, we developed a structure that prioritized readability and logical flow. To support both digital and print distribution, we chose a horizontal trifold format. This approach allowed for a seamless experience while offering space for impactful visuals and concise messaging.
The final ACEC GR brochure design uses the organization’s signature smoky-grey and crimson palette to present a cohesive, professional look. Bold headlines and visual callouts guide attention and emphasize critical messages. In addition, we used quotes in varied sizes and weights to reflect the range of voices within the engineering community. Finally, the clean layout and focused visuals help simplify complex data. These thoughtful choices make the brochure an effective tool for communication, education, and advocacy. Overall, the design reinforces ACEC’s reputation as a credible, proactive voice in Canadian policy conversations.
