CICC 2024 SOI Report | Convenience Industry's National Voice

The Convenience Industry Council of Canada (CICC) is a national not-for-profit that advocates for the success of convenience businesses. Representing retailers, distributors, and manufacturers across the country, CICC unites members under a shared goal: to strengthen, elevate, and protect the industry. Their mission is to provide a strong, unified voice to represent, manage, grow, and protect the industry’s reputation.

CICC approached us to design their State of the Industry (SOI) report for the 2024 year. The goal was to present key insights with clarity – while maintaining a clean, modern, and confident design. They needed a polished, professional piece that would clearly deliver insights while reflecting the confidence of the industry. Most importantly, the report had to translate data into a visual format that speaks to both detail-driven readers and high-level decision makers.

We kicked off the project with a focus on structure and clarity. The priority for this project was to design a clean, functional, modern report. Including statistical callouts, tables, and charts, it presents detailed insights into Canada’s convenience industry’s 2024 year. Each element was carefully organized to help readers navigate the data with ease.

A clean grid system anchors each page, guiding readers through the content with ease. Headings appear in bold capitals to organize sections and support quick navigation. Charts, tables, and data visualizations are designed to stand out without overwhelming the page. To maintain a sharp and modern look, colour is used sparingly, emphasizing key stats and highlights. Generous white space gives each section breathing room, and careful typography choices ensure both clarity and polish. From page one, the layout successfully signals professionalism and authority.

Working closely with the client, we shaped a design that’s just as informative as it is engaging. The CICC 2024 SOI report stands as a cohesive and credible resource for understanding the year’s trends and performance metrics in Canada’s convenience industry.
