Seafarers Website Refresh.

Steering the next generation of sailors

seafarers’ international union of canada
web

Since 1938, the Seafarers’ International Union of Canada (SIU) has supported unlicensed sailors. They serve those working on the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence River, and Canada’s coasts. The SIU advocates for fair labour standards and enforces Canadian cabotage laws.

The SIU knew they needed a refreshed online presence to resonate with a new generation of seafarers. The refresh should communicate effectively and convey their legacy while embracing modern design. This website aims to balance SIU’s deep-rooted heritage with dynamic features that appeal to today’s digital-savvy workforce. It offers an intuitive user experience, streamlined resources, and a robust platform for members to connect and stay informed on industry standards, updates, and training opportunities.

Dedication to fair labour standards, worker rights, and uniting the seafaring community across Canada’s coast and waterways.

RESILIENT.

To showcase the SIU’s importance and influence, we knew that their website needed a modernized and technical approach. Our goal was to create an engaging, contemporary, and user-friendly site – one that highlighted the SIU’s vital role in the maritime industry. The design features a classic nautical theme, with large blocks of white and navy, as well as red highlights, building on the SIU’s corporate identity.

The website reflects a proud brotherhood of hard work and skill, fostering community and dignity within the SIU. It highlights their history and role as a key advocate for the seafaring industry. The design conveys values of integrity, commitment, and expertise.
