Founded in 1865, the Rideau Club is one of Canada's most historic and illustrious clubs. Its original members include many of the people who founded Canada, and it continues to be a gathering space for political and business trailblazers. In the past decade, the Rideau Club has shifted its focus to ensuring the Club is available to Canada's diverse society. Accessibility is what will guarantee the Club sustains their position as a catalyst for meaningful social interaction in Canada's capital.
The Rideau Club came to us for a refreshed web presence that would uphold their club values as they shift towards the developing era of technology.
Through analysis of existing marketing collateral, we were able to identify the overall Rideau Club brand identity. We utilized this existing look and feel along with the Club's goals for the future to determine an appearance for the site.
On the homepage, visitors are greeted by a full-width video highlighting the lifestyle features of the Club and building familiarity for when potential members visit in person. Much like the beautiful finishing touches on the Rideau Club dinnerware sets, the intricate patterns found on the ceilings, or the garnishes on the cuisine, subtle background details such as gold trim, diamond patterns and flourishes add a final polish to the website.
The Rideau Club website possesses several features including a history timeline, electronic forms, an interactive map displaying their many reciprocal clubs and full catering and event facilities menus.
The Club's website is connected to a member's only portal, hosted by the software company, Jonas. We familiarized ourselves with the Jonas platform and populated their member's site, including adding design touches present in the primary, public-facing website. Both the public and member sites are available in English and French, part of the Club's mandate regarding accessibility.
The new Rideau Club website serves as a modernized online presence. It upholds the Club's distinguished brand and presents their pertinent information to members, both potential and current.
