NHI Bahamas is a national health insurance program for The Bahamas introduced by the government. Its aim is to make their health care system more modern, affordable and accessible. Following the production of a brand strategy and corporate identity development we undertook, NHI Bahamas required the development of a website to communicate its services to the Bahamian public.
It was important that the general public could easily understand how the program works, what is covered, who is eligible to enroll, and more. The website needed to be visually dynamic, informative, engaging, and to communicate its services clearly, providing instant access to resources and other pertinent information.
The website highlights six major areas of content which are designed to disseminate information about the plan to the Bahamian public categorically. It features videos, a newsfeed, information about National Health Insurance coverage, and promotes upcoming events to facilitate outreach to all of the islands.
We developed a strong unifying appearance throughout the program collateral to instill confidence and promote public trust. Matching environments were produced to give the social media platforms continuity and branding.
We used a WordPress Content Management System to offer complete control and security, allowing their communications team to easily update the content on a daily basis. The CMS is structured to be very intuitive and accessible in order to maximize the user experience for their large team of contributors. The site is fully responsive, functioning across all devices to ensure accessibility.
Security measures were implemented to maximize the integrity of the WordPress environment, protecting against a high frequency of hacking attempts and malicious behaviors. The server features state-of-the-art protection.
The web structure works to support and communicate the overarching values of the health care plan for Bahamians in a way that is concise and visually appealing, while large images reflective of the population help the audience relate to the content. The completed website is informative, engaging, user-friendly and highly functional.
In early 2017, the Bahamian government sustained a regime change. Website functionality or content may differ since original launch.
