Better Access, Better Health is a division of Innovative Medicines Canada. Its goal is to educate Canadians about the medicines and vaccines they can access through healthcare plans.
Innovative Medicines Canada needed an information-rich website for Better Access, Better Health that would provide clear, accessible, user-friendly information to their audience. They also needed to differentiate the branch from the other divisions of Innovative Medicines Canada while maintaining a familiar appearance. They came to us to provide the communications treatment they were looking for.
The Better Access, Better Health website has three distinct sections for each of Innovative Medicines Canada’s distinct target audiences: insurance advisors, employers and employees. These sections are colour-coded using Innovative Medicines Canada’s secondary colour palette, for clarity and contrast. This allows for succinctness, delivering only the most relevant information to each user.
We tweaked the information architecture from the existing site, creating single-column dropdown menus to streamline navigation and ensure that users wouldn’t overlook important information. Bright, square shapes contrast with the rounded Innovative Medicines Canada brand, drawing attention to key points and creating a clean appearance. Expandable content accordions help achieve Better Access, Better Health’s goal of coherent, accessible communication by organizing large chunks of text into ideal reading sizes.
To best serve the Better Access, Better Health audience, we developed a range of features. Our team integrated an interactive newsletter popup into the site, providing an important touchpoint for further communication with patrons.
And we designed a responsive chart that adjusts based on a user’s screen size, optimizing data visualization.
The Better Access, Better Health website is also fully bilingual, ready to serve a diverse Canadian population.
We created a Better Access, Better Health website that clearly communicates vast amounts of information in a concise, engaging manner. Its style maintains the Innovative Medicines Canada brand while distinguishing Better Access, Better Health as its own branch.
