The Innovation Insights program is a collaboration between the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. The program provides Canadian Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) the opportunity to explore the origins and applications of industry best practices.
The Innovation Insights program mandate is to help SMEs improve their productivity and competitiveness by bringing together businesses that want to learn from other successful companies.
Innovation Insights needed a branded corporate stationery package and custom kitfolder that they could use to promote their programs and deliver information to SMEs nationally. The pieces needed to look progressive, distinctly Canadian, and feature the corporate sponsors’ logos. The package would be used for promotions and at events, workshops and training sessions to house resources and information handed out to participants.
Incorporating the red from both NRC-IRAP and CME’s corporate brands, we developed a visual theme using a high contrast maple leaf and big blocks of red, grey and white. The leaf builds depth while the bold colours create a strong, dynamic feel. We used negative space to repeat the maple leaf shape along with small squares in varying boldness and transparencies to reinforce a unified visual indentity.
The communications package offers Innovation Insights a branded and cohesive method of providing information and resources to SMEs, facilitating their goal of helping Canadian companies to achieve business excellence.
