Commissionaires Canada is a national, not-for-profit security company that employs hundreds of Canadians each year. With their national advertising campaigns reaching new employees and clients alike, Commissionaires required a refreshed web presence to deliver its mandate and promote brand recognition.
To mark the grand opening of a new office HQ in Halifax and facilitate wayfinding at their Barrington identification services location, Commissionaires Nova Scotia needed signage, posters and advertising collateral.
With a variety of content and such varying sizes, it’s important that all of this material shares the same look and feel and has versatile design choices. It’s important that viewers can easily navigate to the new office, so large posters with maps implemented were strategically placed in locations nearby.
Commissionaires’s Nova Scotia division needed signage, posters and print collateral for their newly relocated office in Halifax. These large outdoor decals placed on window fronts are made as simple as possible so that pedestrians walking nearby can easily see the information. These three decals were placed side to side, so the varying content follows a consistent grid. This way, the three decals put together look like one cohesive piece.
These decals share the same look and feel as he rest of the Halifax office collateral.
To achieve a sense of uniformity, large icons for the respective content are implemented in the same location on each layout. Matching backgrounds rotate according to the content as well. Background icons are blown up and slightly blurred along the edges, not only to improve legibility of the content, but to add a sense of depth. There is a clear hierarchy in type, making the content easy to follow. This adaptable hierarchy holds up from giant four foot tall posters to tiny web ads.
