As the municipality approached its 200th anniversary, it recognized the need to modernize its visual identity while remaining meaningfully connected to its past. The town had evolved over time, and its branding needed to reflect that progress without losing the legacy that residents hold dear. The objective was to create a refreshed and cohesive brand system—one that could represent Mississippi Mills across all internal departments, digital platforms, signage, and public-facing communications with confidence and clarity. This effort included the development of both an updated Mississippi Mills corporate identity and a bold new visual mark to commemorate the Mississippi Mills Bicentennial.
The updated Mississippi Mills corporate identity introduces a refined logotype that feels both contemporary and familiar. Designers retained key elements from the original logo—such as the established colour palette—to preserve continuity and recognition. The end result is a brand that reflects Mississippi Mills’ values, while offering greater versatility across formats and media.
Meanwhile, the Bicentennial identity celebrates 200 years of community, culture, and progress. The central “200” is abstract, vibrant, and symbolic of unity. Combined with modern typography and clean lines, the design captures both the past and the momentum moving forward. It complements the parent brand to ensure consistency without sacrificing creativity.
Both identities work seamlessly across digital, print, and environmental applications. Together, they strengthen brand recognition, support community storytelling, and ensure Mississippi Mills is well-positioned for the future.
