ACEC Magazine Article Design | Canadian Engineering Excellence

The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC) represents the commercial interests of businesses that provide professional engineering services, both to the public and private sectors. They are a trusted organization which aims to champion the industry, strengthen firms, and support its members.

ACEC was looking for a standout article design to submit for the Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine. The goal was to create an engaging design for their articles reflecting a specific tone – meaningful, captivating, and dynamic.

The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Canada (ACEC) supports excellence in engineering and has represented Canadian consulting engineering firms since 1925.

Our primary goal was to design a professional yet captivating concept that uniquely represents ACEC’s articles with a unique twist. These articles use bold elements for a dynamic visual impact, enhancing engagement while showcasing ACEC’s commitment to engineering excellence.

The final design features ACEC’s branding elements with the addition of Prussian blue, the colour traditionally used in blueprints. We used pull quotes in this piece to highlight key insights, while bold typography and structured layouts establish a clear hierarchy, creating a balance between text and images. This design elevates the articles and encourages a greater appreciation among both industry professionals and the general public.
