When preparing a feature for Canadian Consulting Engineer magazine, they envisioned an ACEC Article design that would captivate readers from the first glance. Their goal was to reflect a meaningful and dynamic tone—one that honours the industry’s depth while remaining engaging to a broad audience.
With this vision in mind, the ACEC Article design set out to merge compelling visuals with accessible storytelling. Our team approached the challenge with enthusiasm, ready to elevate ACEC’s content through thoughtful design. We aimed to translate technical expertise into a polished, inspiring presentation—one that reinforces the value of engineering in everyday life.
To strike the right balance between professionalism and energy, we built the layout around bold, intentional design choices. From the start, we focused on drawing readers in with strong visual anchors. For example, a Prussian blue palette nods to classic engineering blueprints while introducing a sleek, modern edge. Meanwhile, the refined typography and structured grids create visual clarity, helping readers navigate through the piece with ease.
Throughout the article, dynamic pull quotes and clean visual breaks highlight essential insights, making the content more scannable and engaging. Spacing and alignment were carefully refined to ensure readability across both print and digital formats. Altogether, the design reflects ACEC’s credibility while igniting interest among readers—whether they’re seasoned engineers or simply curious about the field’s contributions.
