Crime Prevention Ottawa (CPO) is a city-funded municipal board which aims to contribute to crime reduction and enhanced community safety by implementing crime prevention programs through community associations. They work to conduct research and create partnerships in order to fulfill their initiatives, and must monitor and evaluate the progress and impacts of their actions.
We have completed numerous communications projects for CPO, ensuring that their collateral serves to strengthen their corporate brand and mission, and that they are professional, engaging, and easy to disseminate.
The work includes crafting tailored messaging for target audiences, writing media releases, newsletters, web content, e-blasts, and writing/editing research reports. We also provide communications and marketing support, advice, and direction, including project management, media relations, public relations, event management, and video production.
We have designed a variety of communications collateral such as annual reports, event programs, booklets, advertisements, pamphlets, presentations, PowerPoint and Word templates, posters, brochures, web banners, and more.
CPO needed an online presence for their Neighbourhood Toolkit – an accessible community resource initiative that we designed as a microsite to their main website. The site had to abide by both the City of Ottawa and CPO corporate look and feel, while visually differentiating itself from main website. It hosts multiple pages and links to dozens of resources and downloads, with practical information about building safer neighbourhoods as well as information about specific problems and crimes, and how to access help from municipal and community resources.
The website has multi-language capacity and is available in a downloadable PDF version. The Neighbourhood Toolkit microsite is easy to navigate and search, and effectively enhances community engagement – allowing it to play an important role in building the capacity to elevate community safety.
The communications materials we have designed for CPO have been key in engaging their audience. They bring attention to the valuable research and initiatives that communities and groups can implement to promote safety and crime prevention, and in CPO’s follow-up correspondence, to assess and report results.
